A Jeep Wrecked My Old GTX

I've reconstructed several 68-70 *** ends. there isn't a whole lot to them..... a hit on the bumper like that easily pushes the rails over, taking the tail panel and trunk latch with it. the deck lid itself doesn't appear to be hit

Me too,and a hit like that is worse on a Dodge,or 70 Plymouth with the full tailpanel that ties everything together, verses the 68/69 Plymouth with a lot of open space there. I think the rails are ok,the smaller rail that the leafspring bolts to maybe bent, and the lid looks hit at the back right corner. The car needs to be put on a frame machine to be sure.

It doesn’t look to bad.
First, that's one of my worst nightmares, although my Roadrunner (and my wife's GTO) are just "things", when cars like ours get scratched or smashed, it's a bad, bad thing.
Second, if THAT doesn't look too bad to you, you are far calmer and more optimistic than I am, by a LOT.

That's a damned shame, you'd think people would show more respect around antique cars.

I just got word today that a Jeep wrecked my old GTX.

The wording here is a little strange. Your "Old GTX" could mean a car that you used to own but sold/gave to someone else/...
Calling a GTX old is somewhat redundant since they built the last one over 45 years ago.
Which one is it ?
Sad to see any classic car get damaged though.

So is this still your car? A nightmare either way. My '69 Charger got rear-ended about a year and a half ago by a kid who was on his phone and didn't even have his lights on at night; he never saw me making a sharp turn into a gas station. The body shop had the car for eight months. The kid's 2015 Camry was totaled.

Ever since then I don't drive the Charger that much anymore. The roads are more crowded than ever and just about everyone is hyper-distracted in their cars; whether they're watching tv, texting, whatever. Maybe driver-less cars aren't such a bad idea after all...

Just to add some clarity to my post. This car was sold long ago. I had a ‘66 Hemi Coronet at that time that needed a lot of body work when I came across a ‘68 Hemi Super Bee with a 6 Pack in it. I had seen the Bee before and it was nice. The plan was to sell the GTX, buy the Bee, sell the 6 pack motor and put my Hemi in the Bee. So I sold the GTX to a friend but when I went to pick up the Bee it wasn’t as nice as I remembered it being so I passed on it. I was devastated as my GTX was really nice. At that point I should have tried to buy back my GTX but I didn’t because I couldn’t admit to myself that I made a big mistake. I finally replaced the ‘69 GTX with an equally as nice ‘71 GTX.
