Had a great time. great track prep. Race went off with out a hitch. I had a good night going Friday going 7 rounds foot braking in no box. i double bulbed and had to restage in the final , blew it with a red light. Unfortunately the car had a valve train issue when checked Saturday morning. Rather than chance a big failure it was parked untill I cane pull the lifters and o an inspection. I did get to make some 9.8@136 passes in my sons street car on Saturday and Sunday. It's the softest leaving, smoothest, quietest 9 second car on the planet. See attached video. Kids car at :24 and 2:30, Mine at 2:30 and 3:45

Congrats to Casey Fauss Johnson( Whompin Wedge) for doubling up in N/SS and Mike Wood (iron Soldier) for doubling up in No/Box.

Doug, are you going to Indy this weekend?
No, the motor is coming apart tonight. It keeps gaining lash on #8 exhaust. I see nothing wrong up top. My bet is a lifter. Can't chance a catastrophic failure.

Nice compilation...

thanks for sharing

you car looks great too

good luck with the fix/repairs, hopefully nothing all too bad...

Got it apart tonight. Thank god no catastrophic damage. #8 exhaust lifter is definitely wounded. Pulled all the rockers off the shafts as well. 2 more shafts are suspect. They were used when I purchased them over 300 passes ago. So I'll order up the needed shafts ,16 new roller bearings for the rockers and they'll be good to go. Lifters will all get sent back ,inspected and repaired. Slap it back together when I get the parts and back to racing. This is why I keep an eye on valve lash every 20 passes. This is the 2nd time in about 325 passes it's saved me from what could have been big$$$

Hey Doug, good to see you at the BGR race Saturday.
Glad to hear you found your culprit. Like I said Saturday, I run the valves after every race... it has saved us more than once. Did you get a chance to leak the motor down?

Not yet, I will but the lifter is definitely toast.
