My wife and I went to Hooters last weekend to watch the Florida/Georgia game, and we were approached by the organizer of the Cruise Through Time car show in Middleburg, FL. He really liked our road runner and asked us to bring it to the show. There weren't many mopars, which I didn't expect there to be many with Big Daddy's show going on down in Ocala, but there were a few of us who showed up.

My highlight of the day when I saw a kid about ten years old or so taking pictures of every inch of my car. Lights, decals, wheels, everything. He came up and told me he had never seen a car like that and how much he liked it. I asked him if he wanted to get in behind the wheel and I would take his picture driving the car, and the totally shocked look on his face was just priceless! He dashed around the side, handed me his camera, and I took a couple of pics of him driving the car. I've never seen a young man more in his element than that kid was. I suspect he'll be shopping for his own road runner before long.

nice of you to let the kid in. he'll be a mopar owner for sure.

Nice pictures and good for ya with the future Mopar owner! Thanks for sharing.. I really do have to say, i think your RR is the nicest looking car in all there that you can see good.. I like the 66 Belv and the Dart but i think you had the winner looker in the lot.

Thanks for posting, very cool story of that kid, your a good man Bruzilla, he's hooked on Mopars for life now & very cool show, the car looks great...

Can't believe those Mopars didn't drive the extra miles and make Garlits , we missed you !

I kinda like these smaller affairs because they mainly attract drivers and not trailer queens. There was not a car trailer in sight and I watched every car drive in under their own power, which is something you don't see much of any more. The only thing I didn't like was when you're at a show where most of the people there are long-time members of a car club, they tend to all select each others' cars for trophies, so if you're new or not a member of the club, you don't stand much of a chance.

I did enjoy hearing the whining from the owner of a mint 71 Chevelle owner who was across the road from us. :) His car was nice, shiny, and pretty much all original... and boring. There were three other Chevelles out there, and they were all about the same, so he pretty much blended in with the crowd. We were the only one there with a Road Runner, and definitely one of very few cars with a theme, so everyone who passed by stopped to check out the car and either commented on it being a Road Runner, a Mopar, or a Steelers car. We were talking to people for six hours, and the Chevelle owner said he felt like he was at a funeral. :) I told him if you want to stand out in a crowd, the best thing you can do is not be part of the crowd. Ditch the vanilla Chevy and get something people haven't seen a hundred times. :) I think what really smoked him was a guy came up and gave us an invite to another area show this coming weekend, but didn't extend an invite to him.
