I'll let the pix tell the story. What a GREAT turnout and AWESOME cars (plus one "RACE TRUCK!")
Sir. That is a complete bummer.I had a great time, especially considering a con rod installed a window in my block Monday night, for those who don't already know.
Absolutely NO warning. Oil pressure has been fine, no knocks or rattles, zero steel or iron on the oil pan plug a week ago when I changed the oil and filter.
Heck, I had even fixed the lower bolt (stud) next to the firewall on the valve cover so it wouldn't seep any oil, more to keep it clean as the leak was not bad at all.
CLANK! was my only "goodbye".
Fortunately the Bill Mitchell RB aluminum RB block based 572 components are almost complete. Basically the long block is paid for and at my builder's.
I can't tell if that's the big end of a connecting rod or a piece of main cap bulkhead, or WTF big "chunk of iron"
