Your a good guy, your age or lack of it,
IMO has nothing to do with it...
Morality & honor are ageless, you have them or you don't...
I say honor his wishes, "If you can", you'll have to decide that,
IMO if you're his friend, he trusts you seemingly &
it sounds like you are his trusted friend, he is yours...
IMO you can get a lawyer involved too, or online legal stuff if need be,
especially in setting up a "living trust" too, at-least a consultation anyway...
He can make you the "executor of his will/trust" too,
you divvy out what he wants, to who he wants it to go to etc.,
you don't need to receive anything if you or he doesn't want,
you just oversee with a lawyer if need be {appointed if it goes to probate}
I'd tell him to do what his daughter did,
get a restraining order out on her ***, you or him
may have to/usually have to attend a seminar/school {here in Calif. anyway}
keep her away from his property, bank accounts, credit cards etc.
make sure to call the banks, Dr.'s anyone she could conn
& protect his belongings if he doesn't want her to access them...
The health stuff sounds like the VA & Medicare
"probably should at-least cover most of it"
You can get "in home care/nursing" even thru Medicare
{I believe anyway, maybe call them & talk to a rep. &/or research it online}
If you're not in a financial position, "to help him that way"
be honest with him, he can take it I'm sure...
Just tell him "straight up, you will help him out, in other ways,
when you can other than financially...
Not sure how much more I'd could help you, or him...
Other than hope the best for you & your friend...
god luck & I hope {don't know his name} gets better
& this is resolved sooner than later
I've seen medication &/or combinations of specific Rx's can cause
some of the bruising looking stuff too, it may not be the hospitals fault
"at all", especially in elderly patients...
I saw it with my aunt, uncle, grammie, granddad, my dad & my mom,
you touch, or just help to lift them out of a chair etc.,
even seemingly very minor contact with them, seemed like
"they'd bruise", almost or look like bruising, when it's not....
I'm not sure what it's called, but there's a term for that too...
The leaving him in piss is wrong, understaffed & overpriced
many cases now, Obamacare subsidies/blanket coverage,
on system fit all, caused BS nonsense...
see ya' Dr. Budnicks,
sign off for the second time today...LOL
