Originally a 318 poly.
Current late model 360.
Trans is A727 cable shift with the ball and trunnion style u-joint.
8.75 489 3.55 SG

I am building a 500 stroked 440 for the car.
Interesting to retain the old school push button shift, but is seems like too much trouble to try and locate a BB 727 cable shift and would the ball & trunnion style driveshaft hold up to the 500's torque?

Better to install BB A727/slip joint driveshaft and an aftermarket floor shift?

Recommendations on this swap appreciated.

I have 65 BB slip yoke cores. Or I can build you one.

I will NEVER give up my pushbutton shifter!!!!!

Very nice set up. I'd like to do some aftermarket gauges in that speaker panel area. And love the way you did the speedo panel!
And more info on the shifter set up too. Post a couple more pic if you have them. I wana steal it!View attachment 313612
