Hi. I've had this tranny for 30 years. Think it's for a B-Body. Casting date on tail housing is March 1968. Can someone please tell me vehicle type this goes in based on the picture, especially the crossmember location. Know it's not an E-Body.

Thanks.

Looks like an A-body short tailshaft. A close-up of the vin pad will tell what it came out of.

It's a 68 or later gearbox pad on the side should have a serial number to show what it was in originally!

Thanks, but it is the same overall length as an e-body, and what I read it says B-Body was same length in the 68/69 years. I am adding the numbers from the trans to hopefully finalize if A or B body:
3/23/68 cast date
VIN 9A300190 (maybe the A is a clue?)(or is the A showing Lynch Road assembly?)
pp833 2382 0266

Thanks

I track 69 Lynch Road built cars. I have a list that shows it's out of RM23H9A300190. My reference is incomplete but the car may still exist.

2382 = Sunday, Feb 4, 1968 in 10,000 day calendar.

The SPD on 300190 would be about mid June of 1969 making a 10,000 calendar date of 2882 (Wednesday, June 18, 1969) more plausible. Are you sure the second digit is a 3 and not an 8?

Here is pic of pad. Definitely 2832. Is this from an A or B Body?

I would love to get this back to the original owner......bought it in 1990 at Mopar Nationals. What forum to use to find the owner of the car?

The VIN appears to be from a Road Runner built ~6/18/1969.

2832 = Tuesday, April 29, 1969 which would work well with a mid June build.

If I read the tailshaft number right it's C99127.

Brewer's - "Extension housing casting number C-99127 for 1969 B-body transmissions with 30 spline output/307 bearing."
