Hi guys,

can anybody help me to identify my A833 OD i bought in Germany a few days ago?

Here is the picture of casting on main case. I saw on internet that it should be PP833 and after that 4 digits that represent year, but mine is not like that as you can see. Is this maybe 11.04.1986. if there were A833 that year? :)

Thanks i advance.

To me it looks to have the B&E tail housing on it as it has the dual shifter pattern 70 and up tail shaft.
Those were found in trucks. You can find a small block bell housing for the OD 5.125 " bearing retainer that was used on the OD units. If you are going with it in a BB you will have to have a bell housing with the large 4.805" retainer hole and have the bearing retainer on the trans machined down to that 4.805" spec.
Hope that helps, Matt

Thanks guys, but I know that already :) My question is what year is this transmission, because of rebuild kit I want to buy. Bearing retainer is 5.125".

The case is a different year than the tail housing as a B/E body was never offered with a 4 sp overdrive. Have you looked on the machined pad to get the numbers off the side case? That will tell ya a lot!

I just got the answer from Brewer's Performance:

It appears from the date 11-4-86 it would have been in a 1987 model year Dodge truck or van.

Trucks and van 833OD used the B/E tail housing. Sold 3 of them to Brewers last year.
