hey Gents.
I’m going to look into finally replacing my dash pad and painting the metal black to match the new pad in my 71 charger. Is there anything you guys recommended doing while I have the dash out? Heater core? Replacing wiring? Anything like that? I don’t see myself wanting to remove it twice so I want to cover everything that is recommended the first time
Thanks as always

ammeter conditions and related wiring.

heater core is easy to remove if needed with dash in place... just removing the glove box liner for comfort

Maybe check the cowl vents for blockages while access is easier? Mouse nests etc

I would put a DMT kit in the heater box. Send the heater core to Glen Ray. New seals for the cowl vents if non AC. If AC have evaporator tested.

As mentioned test and correct any wiring. Great time to bypass the Amp meter or convert to a volt gauge.

EDIT: Also a great time to update all your gauge bulbs to LED!

Replace the insulation if torn up by mice. Upgrade your voltage limiter from RT Engineering . Tack upgrade if you don't already have one.

No, no no, I never said that... I simply said, check the ammeter and fix whatever related on wiring... but never said bypass LOL

LOL, never said you said it. But I like to bypass and go voltmeter.
