Mobile should be a big enough town, to have some trans shops around. Maybe look for reviews on them. Even just nosing around looking for parts and pieces, I've run into some that wouldn't touch a 727, others could go through one in their sleep!
Your's being a 67 727, a few minor that year pieces, plus it being a console shift. I have the same 727, in my 64 Ply, that I rebuilt myself. Anyone you talk to, make sure they know what year it is. The tail shaft housing, most likely only thing it will need, is a new rear bushing. A little homework, can get you a ways down the road. Good luck on it!
