Sandy was a bad storm but looks to me like that area got off light. Take a look at these Hurricane Ike pics of Bolivar Peninsula which is just across the bay from Galveston but still fronts the Gulf of Mexico. I'm 25 miles from there (9 miles inland from the bay)and Ike was a scary storm. Anyways, Galveston and ALL the coastal areas that fronts the Gulf and the bay got hit hard but Bolivar was mostly wiped clean. http://geology.com/usgs/hurricane-ike-pictures.shtml

Terrible sight to look at knowing the destruction is even worse then pictures can show and what so many are going thru.

those pics were from 2 days after the flood. water has subsided, damage and power has not restored in a lot of the region. I know in NY there are high rises that are filled with senior citizens that have no food or water/power. A woman i work with has triplets, and one of them has a feeding tube to survive (runs on electricity) they haven't had power for 3 wks...

Damn that really sucks... I hope someone is helping you guys out, where the hell is FEMA, in all this **** ??, according to Pres. Obama at his Press Conference this morning, he made it sound like everything is all pretty much Hunky Dory now, very little mention even of the Damages from Sandy Superstorm, like all the aid was already there & working great, that the responses were timely & significant... It figures... Stay as safe as you can, try to stay dry & warm & take care of them babies, you have all my well wishes, I hope it gets much better soon, hang in there djais...
