Wondering what you guys mite be setting / tuning your air flow ratios at, with out nitrous it's at 12.9 and with a 175 shot, it Buries the Gage !, go's to 10, I've gone from a 71 jet to a 59 and its still at 10, I've read guys going as low as 39 ??
"what do you guys think" its a 440 with a 1000 CFM Pro-systems Carb

However you slice it 10:1 air:fuel ratio is piston-melting lean. Have you considered going up a size in NITROUS (fuel side) pills?

Wait... I think I have that backward.... you're shooting for about 14.5 : 1, right? (or at least 13.5:1). If you're 10:1, aren't you RICH? In that case, go down carb jet size (or better yet in my opinion, go down in fuel pill size)

Um, 10:1 is super rich........Setup it at about 11.3-11.5 assuming there is no ethanol in your gas. If it has 10% ethanol I would target 11.1-11.2. Go up a size at a time until you land in the mid 11's. My guess is 3 jets on the fuel side. This is a wet setup correct?

Yes Wet and 10 to 15 % Ethanol ! I'll Double check, Thank You !!

Yes sir 13. is where I'm at with out Nitrous, and yes again, 10 is Way-FAT or Rich, i keep dropping the Jet on the Nitrous side and the Bitch is still Fat !! So i Guess as long as its fat and not rich ill keep Going !! Lol !!

Monte Smith told me to go 12.8-13.0 for my little plate kit. A "175 hp" tune made over 200hp on my 511" low deck with a single QuickFuel 1050-AN. The engine also made it's best dyno pull around 12.7ish.

A naturally aspirated engine will make its best horsepower at 12.7 ish. A forced induction engine (nitrous or boost) needs to be mid 11's typically to survive. So you can enjoy making a ton of power with forced induction at 12.7........it just wont do it for very long.

Here is a link to an article about it. There are LOTS and LOTS or opinions. I can honestly tell you out of hundreds of nitrous motors I've tuned I haven't lost one that I know of.

WOW GREAT READ !! TY !!

Welcome, happy to help man. I have been tuning for over a decade at this point. There is so much out there and so much "here's how I do it" itt's nice to see articles like this.

I haven't noticed any difference in readings going from 10% ethanol to non ethanol fuel.
