Aftermarket AC Systems

Well I got my restored AC Box last night. However, UPS did a real good job of packing it and this is how it arrived:

My day has been ruined over this.
Man does that blow!!!! It's sickening the way they treat other peoples property... make sure it becomes their property now. Good luck

One of the reasons the aftermarket systems work so well having cold air coming out the vents is that they are on re-circ permanently. You block off the old outside air sources with these systems. I found this out when I did the Vintage system on my neighbors 68 C20 truck. The outside air inlets got blocked off at two different spots. There is still enough fresh air leaking in with our old cars due to age and fitment of panels/seals etc so you don't need to worry about contaminated air like on a jet.

The guy who did the restoration reimbursed me that day and handled the claim with UPS. He is a real good guy to deal with, and is actually building me another one now. I liked the idea of the aftermarket setup, but I wanted to keep a balance of custom vs. original.

One thing I haven't seen in this thread is swapping in a parallel flow condenser for the old linear flow. R134 does not cool well in an old style condenser.
