Aftermarket gauges what y'all's take?

Iv seen gauges on ebay sorry don't have link but they have the dash panel with gauges installed looks real neat my car is a 70 GTX with none rally dash dont have factory tack My car has wood grain dash ,doors ,and console. But all the ones on ebay are eather black or carbon fiber haven't seen one with wood grain ? Has anyone done this? Or seen ones with wood grain. Anything you could say would help Iv not made up my mind on what to do yet. I like the factory look.

Classic Dash makes the dashes in which you are referring to (www.classicdash.com). I was very close to buying one for my cuda. I didn't like the layout and especially didn't like the shiny finish of them. They look so plastic-ee. I ended up modifying the dash I have with all new gauge set. It was easier than I thought and I'm happy with it. I went with Autometer gauges but I would try Speedhut gauges if I did it again. I wrapped the faceplate with mat black vinyl.

Years ago, you could get wood grain contact paper. Just trace out the shape you want , peel off the paper backing and stick it on .............................MO

I recently purchased a complete carbon dash and Autometer Cobalt gauges for my 69 charger. I currently have the original wood grain dash that was pretty beat up and someone used the contact paper dash to cover but actually made it look worse. It is my winter project. However, the dash and gauges don't appear to be cheap looking at all and once installed I think should look pretty darn good.

Hawkeye nice work , real wood right? Youv sent some time on that, I realy like those gauges also, conpatch, thats about what the wood grain looks like thats on there now, kinda like tape,, dont look real good , mite have 30 years ago,,, I could do my own panel in black, but the tops my door and console would have to be changed,,, damit man everything I start just leads to more,, just that everything on 4he inside is black, it needs some color even if 4he color is wood grain,,,,

I made my own bezel but have nothing but great things to say about speedhut gauges. I'd gladly buy another set from them. GPS speedo is fantastic too!

I have never seen real wood on a dash panel. Everything I've seen is a sticker or plastic. 3M makes woodgrain vinyl that looks genuine (google...3M vinyl woodgrain...and look at the images). The prepwork and your base material is what determines the final finish.

i just used a stop sign and wire brushed off the sticker.worked great on my 67.you could just use the 3m stuff on that after you set up layout.

Xp29h , where did you yours , iv seen where electronic, are about 150 more than with mechanical, , dont know what the difference is other than temperature, oil pressure, am I right? What yall think is better?Bigman thats nice, love them radio , anything I see is a help,, been working under hood the last 7 m8nth, havent spend any time reading looking or thinking about the inside , dash, gauges ect, my dad had the interior done seats , head liner , door panels , few years ago still looks new , the dash is a mess ,, now that I got started on the inside, my minds working overtime,, heheh I took the seats out,,,thats the best I could have done , I got all the room I need, It realy feels good to get started on inside,,

the big diff is gonna be the speedo.factory cable(mechanical),gps or sensor driven(electric).thats normally were the big price change hits.

67 was right.. Difference is either sensor or gps unit.

I got everything I needed. All gauges, they had several choices of Autometer gauges with prices of course. I got the speedometer senser, wiring harness for the car that fits all gauges and current Mopar switches too.

I had seen some reviews weren't good for place however they were great to deal with and great communication, no issues at all.
