Anyone have recent experiences using a Mopar, Koleno or Indy block? I need a home for my B1 heads and am looking to make as close to 1000HP on motor as possible. Thinking 593 or 604 ci. Thanks!

no direct experience. i think the mopar is world products and might be the weakest, but i'm sure its much better than stock. the koleno seems to have a following and try some other websites for feedback. probably stronger than the world products. i thought the indy's were aluminum? i think they're stout with 5 cross bolted mains and priority oiling. the indy's do require external oil lines for the pump and are not drilled for internal oil feed to the heads. look at the KB blocks. the aluminum is easier to repair if you have a boo-boo.

also World Products Blocks

I haven't used any yet, but there are also World Products BMP 440W & 426H Aluminum Blocks are also available, I think in 4.310" bore upto I think 4.530" bore & upto 4.75" strokes... There are a few used JP1 {Joe Pisano} & KB {Keith Black} Aluminum Blocks available too, I haven't used any for quite a while now, Milidon made some too...

i think there's a guy on the moparts race forum that deals in the koleno blocks.

Looking at everything it seems like indy and koleno are basically the same in strength. Indy only requires external oiling for there heads not the block anx they offer both cast and aluminum. But I do believe and could be mistaken but the koleno block can go out to 4.600 bore and still have good amount left to handle anything, not sure if the indys can do the same always just see 4.500. But both have all five mains cross bolted.

the indy block has no provision for an internal oil pump pick-up. another thing to think about is; do the b1's need a 4.80" bore spacing or 4.84"?

I would love to give you an answer based on my M.P./ world block that should have been here 7 weeks ago, but Mike at muscle motors in Lansing is still waiting for the pistons. I am starting to wonder if this is the end of my racing. Had no idea that Ross piston where almost impossible to get. It's the 4 1/2 " bore I guess. If your going that route, allow lots of time.
