Air compressor mods?

Sorry, auto drain failed in early 80's and was replaced with manual valve after that time. Going by memory the auto drain would drain during use, however made more noise then a manual drain. I did not have the drain setup to drain outside at that time. A 90 degree shutoff handle was too simple and never failed after that.

I let mine bleed down totally, about once a week.

If I'm doing a lot of sandblasting, it can be 2 or 3 times a day.

I have a manual drain cock and a plastic coffee can under it.

Usually get about 1/2 to 2 ounces.

Mine's also lag screwed to a skid made of 2x4s lag screwed to 4x4s with beveled ends.

Makes moving it a HELL of a LOT easier.

MUCH less prone to tipping, and it helps insulate from vibration.

Mine came bolted to a small pallet which is fastened to a wooden skids. It sits up about 9 inches or so from the floor so I left it on that and it seems to be fine. So, I guess what I need to do is drain the water from the bottom of the tank every day. Also from the bottom 2-3 times if sand blasting, also drain the down legs too every now and then. Right? I have a bunch more of the blue air handler tubing left still so i'm going to use it up and create some more down legs for drainage, farther from the compressor.

It's worth the time to put a ball valve on it and plumb it outside, gets old taking out cans of water and the accidental getting hosed.

I happen to have a valve as it turns out, so, bonus!
