Definitely a game show, but quite educational.
He was great as the host and presented as a very nice guy. I met him once when I tried out for Jeopardy. After the tryouts, I was in a waiting area with my wife who was 8 months pregnant. Trebek was walking by so I said to him that it was great to try out for Jeopardy as it was a long time ambition. I said to him jokingly, if we have a boy, I'm going to name him Alex. He never cracked a smile and just turned and walked away, not saying a word. Now you would think if a stranger says they're going to name their son after you, you would say something, like " That's very kind of you". but nothing from him. So, I'm not impressed by his image. In any event, RIP.
I didn't make the statement to make friends. I was reading a few stories about his life outside of Jeopardy, and he was your typical Leftist, Hollyweird elitist!! I just can't find it in me to feel sorry for those people as they look down on people like me as if I were a homeless junkie pissing on their shoes. Just MO!!!
