Alice Cooper interview with Pastor Greg Laurie

He is a real car guy, so he has/had some redeeming qualities already...

IMO he sees his mortality now I assume, wants to hedge all bets...

It's because he went to church incognito, when everybody rose. Then Reverend Smith recognized him, and punched him in the nose.

I just finished watching. I think Alice understands the gospel and has been born again. He's using his own experience with drugs and alcohol addiction and fame to reach young people with a message of redemption and hope.

I just want to say when someone is born again they are indeed a new creature in Christ. And just as a natural birth does not result in a fully grown man a new Christian cannot be expected to suddenly take in all the glorious aspects of the Son of God. He rather starts in a lifetime of learning about God and growing in his relationship to him. Finally, perfection is not the goal, but pleasing God and is the final gift of a gracious God.

I say all this because I had to stop myself from judging whether Alice should continue in portraying the character of his own creation named Alice Cooper in his rock shows. My prayer is Alice will continue to seek God and follow His will as it is laid out in scripture.

Even after he said "no more mister nice guy" ???
I really can't see how Cooper can continue performing many of the classic rock songs he's known for. Cold Ethyl is about necrophilia, for example.

Necromancy is a wizard.
Necrophilia is sex with a dead person.

My wife and I go to estate sales. One thing we see a lot of is boxes full of books about religion. I’m guessing it’s a natural progression for humans to want to hedge their bets at the end.

Yep. Too sad for those who missed it.

Alice, who came back to the church over 30 years ago, describes in much more detail in his 2007 autobiography 'Golf Monster'.

Is he still making money from rock and roll and demonic imagery?

Rock and roll (along with other forms of modern music) is about sex and drugs, violence, pride.

These guys that make a speech once in a while about Christ but still make their living from this crap are like camp counselors just angling to seduce the youngsters.
