I doubt anyone would mine if you started one. But before you do, ask Barry how much time and money it takes to run a site like that. It's a lifetime committment.

Are you sure? Looks like a 318 Poly in the line photo.

Yes. The data book indicates black carpet is used with four speeds. Does that hold true for your car? Maybe...there may be changes after the data books are printed. If you know for sure what your car came with, use that.

If you read the book, color-keyed was an optioon on RR's.

That makes some sense to me (optional color for RR) Remember that RR's came out as a lower budget car, so making color, other then black an extra cost option makes sense.

Trucks weren't built at the L.A. plant, at least not in the short time I was there. I went in the military in late 69, the plant shut down sometime between 70-72, they sent me a letter if i wanted to continue my employment with them when I got out but it wouldn't be at the now gone L.A. plant.

Mine is a red 4 speed car with black carpet and a black interior.

Not on a 4 speed car. Go back to page 1 and look at the picture of the page of the book where it shows black carpet only with 4 speed. Just above it shows the color carpet option but it also says not available with 4 speed.

My mistake, had to get my directions straight. The white building area is the location of the plant, however that is not the old building. The Chrysler plant was totally demolished years ago. When I drove south on eastern I made a left onto Slaiuson and entered the parking lot there. Had to walk across the large lot to the building structure. You can see this in the post card. The fancy building at the front of Eastern was the admin building.

I've been thinking this through and have a question for those of you with colored carpeting in four speed Road Runners or those of you claiming to have seen colored carpet in four speed RRs.

Were these cars bench seat or bucket seat cars?
Were they single color or two color interiors?
What color was the carpet?

Just curious, are you calling your tan interior bronze? Is your car H2T? M2T? M6T?

Blue, green, tan and black were the only carpet colors available in a 69 RR.

I checked the parts book. Only black carpet was available with the bench seat.

But I am curious if bucket seat four speed RRs recieved colored carpet, especially bucket seat two tone cars. The colored carpet would have been available in a GTX (bucket seats only). So....why couldn't they have used the same carpet in a RR?
