All Black R/T Hemi 1968 Chargers

I have a few of them. I believe 68 Hemi Charger production numbers were around 425 cars total. I don't know what the breakdown is by color, but black with no vinyl top has to be pretty rare.

It's a sickness! Love the chrome slotted wheels on the Hemi Charger R/T. The perfect not often seen anymore day two look!
The original owner purchased those new sometime in 69 or 70, if I remember what he told me correctly. They have been on the car ever since then. Frank was a big Nascar fan.

Back in 1971 I test drove a black 1968 Hemi auto Charger in OK City that was for sale on a dealer lot. But it had a tan or cream colored interior. It had been repainted but I saw no sign of a color change. Still regret not buying that car.

You can ask our resident 68 Charger exbert Richard Cranium!
I contacted Rich and he could not give a solid answer either. It is what it is. Thanks for the reference. I may although have a spare fender tag made. I did not think my question could be answered anyway. Thanks for your input.

Yes, could be it. But don’t remember a vinyl roof and I don’t remember column shift either. But there can’t be too many black on tan auto Hemi Chargers built in 68. 1971 was a long time ago. It was a strange story as to why I didn’t buy it but I’ve probably told it before a few times on here already.
Odds are very good , Price in 1971 wouldnt even pay the taxes on it today

I dont know the full history of the shown car.
I hate to say it, but its pretty much a trailer queen
And it will DESTROY a piggy bank quickly if someone is interested

The current owner is after a VERY expensive car he has lusted after for a while. And needs to make room in the garage and replenish the piggy bank to make it happen

But Agreed, cant be to many that color combo
