After 22 months in the paint and body shop, only one more coat of sealer, another blocking and then into the paint booth! There were plenty of days I thought I would have to go pick the car in pieces and it would never be done.

The body shop owner loves to paint and does it well, so if it has made it this far, I am considering it as good as done. Once the paint is done, it will go back home for me to reassemble.

Getting this home to work on is going to be sweet!

GREAT!!! Having followed your other threads detailing the grief, frustrations and issues you've endured the last 22 months in "paint jail" thank goodness its finally coming coming to an end!!

I was thinking the same thing! Lol I do the same thing when I see those hot lookin Girls posing on the hot rods , I say nice lookin girl ,,,now get the h#@& off that car!!!

Car was originally green with a black vinyl top, but this will be the third time painted black. The engine compartment and trunk are black and black was the easiest way to go. I still have a strip of green on the radiator support and told the painter that after three black paint jobs I expected to not see any more green, anywhere!

At least if he damages anything standing on the cowl, he is going to have to fix it. I went to the DMV to register my new Hellcat this week, and since I bought it in Georgia and was registering it in Florida, they had to come out to the car and write down the VIN on the dash to compare to the VIN on the manufacturer title. Old guy about 70 came out with an old fiber clipboard with a metal clip and immediately put the clipboard with the metal rivets sticking out the back on my hood to write down the number. While doing so, he was telling me what a nice car it was. I just bit my tongue and checked for scratches after he got done. No scratches, but I about choked and could not believe he did that when it happened.

No kidding. That idiot apparently was apparently purposely acting like a asshole since he posed there long enough for you to take a half dozen pictures. No excuse for that - just an being idiot. I wonder how much sand and crap he had on his foot from his last trip to the restroom that's now on the primer of your car. Not impressed at all with any place that lets that type behavior happen. Hope it turns out OK for you but based on that I would have some doubt.

Feel your pain.... my 70 RR initial estimate was 6-8 mos.... 2 1/2 years... finally done... from what I hear its pretty much normal...and no...I don't need anymore ice chests...LOL. top1.jpg

You never stand or steady yourself like that on a car your working on in that capacity.. Very unprofessional.

I wonder how many more months it would have been if they were to take out your headlights so your buckets wouldn't be all paint too. How about the wiring harness? Not to be picky, but wouldn't it be easier to bolt the brackets to the bumper then bolt the assembly to the car?

Thats funny Gpuller. Made my day. Hes coming along nicely!
