I purchased a powermaster 8-48529 alternator as this should fit my car, well it doesant :p
Seems like the A/C cars have a different bracket than non ac.
Has anybody been down this path before? I cant find any kits to make this work.
Picture of old / new alternator and original bracket.

Thanks

That style powermaster is not going to work with that style mounting. You need the round back style powermaster.

thanks but i dont think that will work since the car has 2 belts, i guess thats why i have a different bracket than what the alternator was designed for. The alt. was recommended to me by tech at powermaster and should be a bolt on with 2 spacers.
What year car? Possibly a newer style mounting would work with the spacers.

Mine seems to be different than both of the above. Depends on the year.

The poster knows how the alternator mounts. His problem is with mounting the Powermaster alternator he bought. Read.
Well ... I did read, your post #5 you suggest a ( newer style bracket may work with some spacers )
I just thought I would show the OP the 76 and later oem set up that he could possibly set up as per your advice.
They are different in mounting aspect , no idler , stamped ,not cast as his pics show.
If khan thought he could use them I would be glad to give them to him.
Just trying to help out.
