Are the 65/70 AMC 4 piston calipers a bolt on for the 67-69 bendix 4 piston caliper? Has anyone ever tried or compared them?
Dan

it never occurred to me......I think I have both
If you have time to compare them it would be a help. The amc calipers are available. But nobody can tell me if the mounting ear spacing is the same to mount etc.

I'll dig them up..... If for some reason they aren't where I think they are, I'll be pissed...... gimme an hour or 2

Make sure to check the width of the slot that the rotor fits into. From pictures I have seen the AMC ones look thinner in that area, for thinner rotors.

actually getting off my *** right now....... now where are those damn calipers?

well...... here's what we have

but before I get there.........

the rusty caliper came on my 68 390 AMX...I am 99% sure

I am 90% sure my 4 piston calipers on my 69 AMX and 70 Machine were the same; but different than the one pictured from the 68.

all that being said...... the ones I have from the 68 AMX appear to be identical to the 68 GTX calipers

the AMC rotor is same diameter, but half the thickness, probably made up in the pads

I don't have bearing to mock up the rotor on the spindle....... and I hate not being 100% sure

So they are way different in terms of the width of the rotor, too many variables. I’m going to save myself the headache of an outdated caliper design. These are like the old vette calipers that always leaked. Time to update.
Thank you for going to the trouble to dig them out.
Love to see a picture of the AMX
