Reminds me of my 69 back in 71. Bought my SC/Rambler off a used car lot in Vallejo, CA for $1800. Drove it through HS. Local had a wrecked AMX so I scored all the performance stuff off it. Last time I race the car was at Sears Point in 73. Flat towed to the track and ran a best 12.99. That was with slicks. Surprised those tapered axles held up.

Not mine, sure wish it was!

What is the diameter of the air filters for your car? Just looking, they seem pretty small.

I will take a pic today and measure for the Post.

I'm ordering new Head bolts today
Researching a Roller Cam set-up from both Summit & Jegs
I get Summit parts very quickly from Sparks NV area facility.
Jegs parts take much longer to arrive (Columbus OH)

I know a guy that bought a Rambler Scrambler from a junkyard in Rhode Island. The car was complete, but rusty. He bought a perfect rust free 69 Rambler from California, and drilled out thousands of spot welds separating every panel that was rotted on the Scrambler, and then he drilled out every spot weld on the California Rambler, and reconstructed the Scrambler from the ground up. It was quite the project, but the Scrambler got saved.

So yeah,
Most likeley the car (SC/Rambler) was sold by Tarbox.
I remember them.
BIG AMC performance in RI back "in the day"
(Providence location)
Now I think they are on Bald Hill Rd?
Anyway, I graduated from Scituate High School, 1972
Went to school with the Tasca boys
Bob II, Karl and David (Bob III, NHRA Funny Car driver is Bob IIs son of course, and I meet up with them here every year at Pomona)
We always had Tasca Fords growing up
Anyway, in 1970 my Bud's Dad bought him a slightly used SC/Rambler
It was quite a car!
I remember the Tasca Boys would come to school in stuff like a 70 Boss 429, Wicked Torino "R-Code" Super Cobra Jets, Ranchero's new Broncos ETC
(THEY WERE NOT Spoiled, they walked a tight line at home and school)
AND: I remember, they "marvled" at my Bud Mike Kelley's 69 SC/Rambler!
Kind of gave it CREDIBILITY if you know what I mean!

PS: one of my Cars with a TASCA plate on it.

The car was in Junior Carpenters junkyard for many years. He never let anyone take any parts off it,so it was complete, even the side mirrors were there.

Thank you much. I knew it was small, just wasn't for sure how small

Where's the snout that comes off the right side of the ram air box?

I have another component
It mates to the SCOOP and covers the air cleaner assembly
But I do not have a "snout" but I know what you mean
I have the cut-outs for it, but no snout.
Do you have one for me?
Also, I DO NOT have numbers on my tach as the "Later build cars had a 601 or 602 Tach.
First 10 cars produced had "Anomalies"
Also, the first 10 cars had 3:90 gears
Mine has 3:90 gears

Just didn't take a pic

The engine just a short block right now
Heads, everything is off
Researching:
ARP Head Bolt kit
Roller rockers
Springs
Cam Shaft etc

His car was recently in Hemmings Muscle Machines, Car of the year?
Bought it new with 2,000 miles on it and replace engine because the Magazine Writers thrashed the cars 9First 10 Cars were set up by H.R. Shahan, Shilrey "Drag-On Lady's" Shahan husband for better performance for magazine tests
That is why the first 10 have 3:90 gears in them
