Another 70 Roadrunner Downunder

Yes, you are correct. I caught up with Des on the telephone (very old fashioned device) and we had a good talk about the car and the days at Meremere etc. I would be interested if you have any old photos also, as since Des's older brother Ron passed away, the family has managed to squabble and lose a lot of that memorabilia. :thumbsup:
I'm afraid I don't have any photos. I just remember that car was a monster. I don't know what mods it had, if any, but I remember it was an auto at the time. I think Des was running 12 or 13 second quarters with it. I see it was run by Alan Edwards at some time as well. I knew him but not very well. He was running a big block C2 corvette at the drags at one stage..... probably before the GTX.

Same car...I know Alan quite well...I used the GTX as his son's wedding car a few years ago. Haven't seen Alan since then. My father went to school with him, and my Grandmother knew Alan's mother quite well - the family was well known.
Here's a couple of shots I have found of Alan's 'Vette from the old days;

This is where Alan and friends spent most of their weekend - he was a hard driver;

And this was his car before the 'Vette;
