I was reading today on Ebay about Toms Classic offering a disc brake conversion for AB and E body cars. The listing is for 12" rotors and requires 15 inch wheels, which I have on my 66 Charger. It includes spindles, dust shields, calipers, mounting bolts and brake hoses. All for $599. I read the most recent posts about the conversion but also have been told in the past that A body spindles are the ones to use and I don't know at this point if that is what is included, but assume so since they mention AB and E body. Lug pattern would still 5 on 4 1/2. Has anyone done this with this vendor. My car has already been changed from single to dual reservoir but I don't know if there is a different requirement for disc over the drum master. I do have the power brakes and the rear drums are 10 inch.

So with that info would this be a good conversion or is there more to do? Not sure either if the included brake hoses would work. Toms seems to have sold a lot of these but I know nothing about them. Ebay reviews are not specific enough and so I'm hoping maybe someone on the forum might have used them. Or have a better suggestion. I would not like to get this kit and find out I need XY and Z.

Post the link to the kit.

It was on Ebay and I'm not smart 'nuff to do that. I'll ask the wife if she can do it. And I might be able to get it off the website Toms Classics.

I would contact Toms Classic and ask them who is the brake supplier that is supplying the kit, or is it all sourced direct from China.
PST use Leed Brakes for some (or all) of their conversion kits. Leed Brakes no doubt get parts from China, but at least you're dealing with a US company with proper back-up.

Look at some of the kits Leed Brakes offer and compare the price...Toms Classic are very very cheap in comparison.

These aren't the exact kits but will give you some idea of how cheap (and probably ****) Toms Classic stuff is.

I see what you mean by price and thanks for posting the link. I will try to research the source for these parts. Maybe even look at Summit although they will be pricey but maybe made in the USA. It's part of why I asked the question on this forum. Maybe someone has used Toms parts and has a review.

You get what you pay for. I'm big fan of BAER. Manufactured in Phoenix AZ USA. Great customer service, great products. But again you need to PAY for it.
It's like the old adage. Performance costs money, how much performance do you want?

Apparently they have more than one disc kit. I must say, very enticing pricing on them and from the feedbacks
I saw, folks seem to like dealing with the company as well.

If all such kits out there have Chinesium sourced parts (and they do) - seems like a viable option over just paying for a name,
least to me.

Well you can buy knock-off carburetors for a very enticing price too, but doesn't mean you should.
Brakes are the one area you don't want to take a chance on, for yourself and the other road users. Tread carefully:
