Another factory marking on the firewall (69 Charger). What does it mean?

It tells you that when the engine goes "R, R, R, R, R, etc. 15 times, then it will finally start".

Somebody in the dealership make ready make ready probably put that on there for his own reference....?

Thanks for the input, but I don't think that is the answer for "R-15". There is another mark similar to that on the radiator support that says "-20". Just to the left of that is a yellow sticker that addresses the servicing of the radiator and states to "-20". There is a place for the dealer to indicate it has been checked, but that is not filled out with anything. It could have been either Chrysler or the dealer that attached the sticker and marked the "-20", but I would like to know for sure. And still, what is "R-15"?

Whatever the real answer, this is interesting. Maybe the selling dealer did it since you are the original owner. Welcome to the site.

Maybe. But I think almost all '60s cars had 15 lb radiator caps. And it says 15 lb on the cap. Still no definitive answer. Too bad the dealer is defunct. There's a new police building on that lot now.
Even if the dealership was still there.......probably no one would remember or no one there anymore that's old enough to know about it. The dealership/garage where my 66 Belvedere came from is still there but it's no longer a dealership but is still a working garage with the same family owning it. Some of the original family members are gone now but the wife of the owner is still in the office and remembers the guy that originally bought my car. He used to bring the car in for service during the many years he owned the car. Small town so everyone knew everyone lol

It could be something as simple as them writing down the key location on the pegboard in the dealership office. Want to take this one for a test drive...pop the hood and that shows you what location the keys are on the pegboard. Good in theory...but if your charger has a remote hood release...then that marking couldn't be seen without the keys already in hand.

Another good possibility, but seems like a better way not involving permanently marking up a car would be to put R-15 on a tag. My hood can be opened from outside. The car was a special-order, so they weren't going to be showing it to anyone else. Anyway, I didn't give them a chance. I checked on it every day from the projected arrival date and it was not there until a Sunday morning when the dealership wasn't open. I saw it through the fence and was there early the next morning to pick it up. Man! I remember how exciting that was. I never felt like that about any other car I've bought.

Maybe it's the 15 times you called them wanting to know when you could pick it up?
