how similar is the 1966 coronet to the 65 coronet? my neighbor wants to put a 360 in his 1965 coronet and wants to use headers. but we've only found headers for a 1966 coronet for this application. will that work or are there headers out there for the 65?

thanks in advance

Most aftermarket stops listing stuff prior to 66.

I think you will be OK, though.

I know the firewall is different and the trans if it's cable shift.

Don't think it will affect headers, but can't speak from personal experience.

In 66 the motor sits back an 1" or so compared to the 65'.

Should be fine. The headers in my '65 are listed for '66 and up, and that's a big block application. You got a lot more room around the engine with a small block. The only thing that may present a problem is the center link. Like wedge5 said, the '66 and up cars sit the engine back about another inch or so. I still don't think it'll be an issue.
