I have a 68 Satellite with new stock suspension (springs/shocks/etc ), original 318, and 8 3/4 rear end with 3.55 gears. I’m looking to increase the height of my rear wheels (original 14” aluminum slot ansen sprints with bald tires at 25” tall now). I’ve had great success with Discount tire and am looking at either a Cragar 61 series chrome or American Racing Torq Thrust D in chrome (15 x 8 rear, 15 x 7 front). For sure, I want BF Goodrich Radial TA all around. Thinking 275/60 R15 in front (28” tall) and 215/65 R15 in front. What I don’t know is the backspacing fitment. Discount tire said the Cragars would ‘probably’ work, but the American Racing would ‘work better’. Any advice from anyone? The car is 400+ hp and the tach rides at 3600 when doing 70 on highway. I’d like to keep the 3.55 and eventually do a gear venders OD later. Discount tire’s calculator doesn’t include Plymouth, so I’m kinda blind here. Any help? Thanks ahead of time. Also, I’d be looking to part with the aluminum slot Ansen sprint 14” (#4) down the road too.

To much rake IMO, my preference would be 235/70 15 on the front. 3.5 BS front and no more than 4.0 BS for the rear. I think 3.5 BS will work there too.

I have a 70 RR and wanting to install 17x9 wheels in the rear but not sure how wide of tires I can put in the rear or if 17x9 will work, anyone?

If I’m calc correctly, that would be 28” tall in both front and rear. Maybe 1” drop in front? 215/70 R15 would be close. The discount tire website has Offset listed at 0 and -6 depending on brand. That’s what’s making my head spin.

I was going by what someone suggested to me but he doesn't own a mopar so this is why I'm going with someone that does, I appreciate your input, what about 15x9 in the rear and 15x8 in front.

I wasn’t commenting on your question. Just responding to ‘Jerry Hall’. You should probably start your own thread for ‘your’ tire/wheel issue.
