Any 1:18 scale diecast collectors here on FBBO?

63hemipolara,

That is one AWESOME collection!!!:yourock:
Not only do you have some REALLY cool cars, but I also love your semi tractor trucks! I'd really like to see some more pictures of those semi's if you can. What scale are they? Are they plastic or diecast?

Richard

I'll put some better pictures of the trucks up here tonight. Most that are pictured are 1:24 models. I have one that I forgot to take a picture of but it's a HUGE 1:12 scale Peterbuilt, I'll add that one tonight as well. Glad you like them, they are fun to build just because they are so different from cars. The green one that I posted here is from the TV show Movin' On (from the 70's).

Wow, I bet you're gonna have to use the wide angle lense to shoot that 1:12 scale beauty! Thank you in advance for taking more pics! I'll be wainting to see them!

63hemipolara, great collection. If you decide to sell off any of those model kits let me know, I saw three or four I'd love to have.
I have quite a few diecast and model kits all stored in my crawlspace. It's not as bad as it sounds, the place is painted and lit up. I have them all on shelves so they are sort of displayed while in storage. I'll try to snap off a few pics if there isn't too much stuff in front of them.

Hi Steve,

THANK YOU! :D Those are GREAT pictures of your trucks!! They look AWESOME and the paint and detail work look GREAT!

Richard

That's some cool stuff there!

I collect mostly Petty cars, but have a bunch of others also... Mine aren't nearly as neat as yours, though... Plus I'm sure they're a lot more dusty because they're out of the boxes.

Hey Mike,

Looks like you have some pretty cool Petty stuff there. :)
I'll get the couple I have out and post a picture.

Any of you collectors ever come across a 62' Plymouth B body in the 1:18 / 1:24th scale?? I've been hunting for one for the past couple of years but the earliest I have found is a 63' Dodge. I'd love to get one. Found them inthe 1:64th.

The 62 Plymouth has only beed done in diecast in 1/64 scale as far as I know (Johnny Lightning and Racing Champions). There was an Eldon 1/32 scale 62 Plymouth slot car back in the 60's, and Johan made 1/25 scale promos and kits of the 62 Plymouth 2 door hardtop and convertible. Both Johan kits were reissued in the 80's. Revell made a 1/25 scale 62 Plymouth 4 door kit back in the early 60's I believe. I'm not aware of any other 62 Plymouth B bodies in any scale.

Meanwhile, heres a link to a few of my 1/18 scale diecasts in diorama settings. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=3519&id=100001111775214&l=b49915c639

I also do the 1/32 scale slot car thing. No photos, but I have a Carrera 1/32 scale slot car track arranged in a figure eight almost fitting on shelving I bought at Ikea for my diecasts. The shelves are very deep, but in one spot, the track does hang over the edge.

A lot of sweet diecasts, guys!!! just finished this section of shelving this weekend. Going to have to put up more shelves though...the bug has bit me again!!!!

I did a Fleabay search for Eldon slot cars for the heck of it. No 62 Plymouths to be found.. I was surprised to see the poor quality of these cars. Not at all as I remember them as a kid. I remember these larger slot cars having much better quality chassis, drives and bodies on them.

I have about a dozen A12 cars and would trade one in a heartbeat for 68 Coronet R/T which I have never seen.

Die Cast Disease

Here are a few pics of our collection. These are about all the wife will put up with in the house on display the rest are in boxes in the attic and out in the garage on the shelf. My son and I have been collecting for quite a while and he can't go near a store without rummaging through the Hot Wheels, he will be 24 next month. Oh well if that is the worst of my bad habits he suffers from he will be alright!
