Is anybody else obsessed with the British automotive show, Top Gear?
I know they're doing a US version but it won't have the same humor element...

LOVE that show!!! the US version imho won't be as good tho, because it won't have the dry wit of the Brits.

i'll check it out for a couple of shows and see how it goes tho...

Have to watch for ther US edition. Maybe, producers will find some crazed fools to do a good job here? It's for certain that the personalities make the show so good.
American Chopper would be, even more useless, without the "characters" it involves, but I still watch, for the reruns, to see what the idiots have done next.

I saw one of the new hosts on another car show...can't member wth it was called, but the guy is a real tool...

yup!!! that's the show!! and the other guy on that show is a huge jerk-off, i think it's paul tracy.

btw they still haven't revealed the stig's identity, have they???

We have our own version here in Australia and it's struggling. Nothing beats the UK one, though if they had me as a presenter, with Red Polara as well, I'm sure we could turn it around....

"Today on Top Gear OZ we road test the latest Corvette and Ferrari, just as soon as we're finished having fun with some real cars!" (cue video of B-body's doing circle work surrounded by clouds of tyre smoke)

Haha, glad they aren't both hosting! Yeah it was Ben Collins, he ended up in British high court b/c a book revealed his identity.

How long has the Australian version been on?? Haha, yeah they need some more older muscle in it but afraid it would end up on fire or smashed!

Love the UK show. Likewise on the absolutely worthless American Hoppers.

I agree! The dry wit will be lacking. And the usual British talent for "understatement"! I'm afraid our Yank version will be all flash. Love the competition among guests for best times!

" Oh for God`s sake" Those three are demented funny together. We had an English neighbor when I was a kid & they ARE different. She came to our door 1 day & the old man was sitting there in jeans,barefoot,& no t shirt. Hell,it`s hot in St.Louis in the summer. Thought she was gonna stroke out.
As far as hosts, just hope they don`t get that idiot from the Nascar shows-Rutledge. I heard someone say it sounded like him on the promo. I`ve not seen it yet.
