Any interest in an old style starter?

I had this starter rebuilt at a local shop when I had the engine out. It worked for a little while but now is behaving very inconsistently. That, plus header clearance issues, and I'm swapping it out for a 90s dakota starter.

So my question is this: Is there anyone that needs one or any reason not to just trade it in for the core charge?

Originality would be an obvious reason but since you're installing headers that's probably not a concern for you.

Thanks for the replies!

I was just wanting to make sure that it wasn't something that anyone would be trying to get ahold of for an all original project of some kind.

I gave one to a guy building a jeep, been in my garage since the 80s.......... works like a champ, I think I want it back

Post up the numbers on the aluminum case and the black barrel. If they are from 67-72 it may have value.

I like them, it's the sound. If I was racing and worried about weight, yes, get rid of it. I took the Dakota out of my stock '72 Dart and put the original back in. My other Dart doesn't have room with headers, so, Dakota. My Hemi RR, don't know yet, if the original will fit with large tube headers, yes, otherwise the Dakota.
I would just hang onto it. I have about 2 extras, what the hell.
