Any pro tips to replacing door hinge pins on this 74?

did mine by myself. used 2 ratchet straps,attached to beams in garage, to hold the doors. worked great.

You can do it with a well placed floor jack and wood blocking.

Thats what i did with the driver side door, a few weeks later i started on replacing the passnger side window cat whiskers and when my father visited me i remembered i had a small task for him.... hold the door during removal and installation.

ALL of the wear parts are replace in a complete rebuild. Done just like factory. No experiments. The old ones lasted over 40 years, these will go longer with modern US made, materials being used. Oversized pivot pins not brass bushings used on the lowers .
Install and adjustment instructions included. Always use a buddy. A small jack and some cardboard, tape and/or piece of carpet is really handy.
These illustrations are for the 1967-70 B-Body hinges only. You said you are working on a 1974 ? Completely different but we also do those as long as the hinge has not been damaged by excessive wear or attempted rebuild damage.

Done and done. Learned my lesson from the top pin and reamed well past the pin head. Provided nice footing for my punch as well. Both top and bottom set bushings were oversized and I had to ream out the holes a little more. Which is good, I was worried the bushings were just going to chill in an oblonged hole, that would'nt had lasted long at all. This setup is solid. I also sanded and sprayed the hinges and door with rust converter.
Door went back on easily with the help of my transmission jack. Didn't have to fiddle with door alignment at all.
