It would be good to see them fix things. I bought a 4150 Max wedge port intake for my RB and the quality sucked. Worst part is that it is fixable in the molds they use but they have chosen not to forever. Hopefully they will fix that going forward. What would be really cool would be if they did a manifold similar to the old 337 manifold for those of use that would like to keep the carb a little lower. The -1's are a little more robust above .700 list numbers and I don't think the 270's can match them no matter how much work you do to them but for under .700 lift I will take the 270's any day. Mine flow [email protected] which is right in line with some of the better -1 numbers I have seen. And the customer service and quality is way higher than Indy at this point.

I have run the 270s on both my 440 and 505 motors . Great out of the box , checked seats and valve clearance were fine . I wouldnt go dual plane on a max wedge , jmo , kind of negates why you are using them . Buy the tf valley plate while you are at it .
Good point. I have been looking for the intakes, any RB 3x2 capable intake, that either has or can be modded to Max Wedge ports. The Edelbrock/Chrysler aluminum 6bbl intake can be modded to Max Wedge port size, but on a 541 cu in MW port engine that intake is just too restrictive.
What mph did it run?
Tex013, do you by chance have any track numbers (and possibly dyno numbers too) for either of those motors?
Trap speed was broke on that run.
I too have abysmal 60ft times, but Calvert mono leaf springs and Assassin traction bars, sliders, and Viking double adjustable shocks for the rear (since that's what is on the front, and I would rather have more adjustment than needed rather than less) are my plans to fix the rear suspension.
I went from XHD springs clamped in front, and unclamped in the rear, to the Calvert mono without the bars, big mistake.
Money I have not yet spent...
I went with the calvert split mono leaf 225lb spring weight on my 65 coronet.
65Fury440, are you saying you are running the springs alone and no assassin bars or calvert bars? If so, the front section of that spring may not be stiff enough to give you the lift you were getting before. I am not familiar enough to be able to say but if they were designed for use with the bars, they may not be ideal without them. There is a reason the SS Springs had the multi leaf front sections set the way they were. They acted a lot like a ladder bar by virtue of their stiffness.
So what are your upgrades this year?
