That is a good idea, Wayne. The rivet process doesn't crack the housing?
 
Don't go crazy with the heat or all the pins will fall off !
 
I fixed a couple of mine by putting a stripped 18 stranded wire through the back and soldering. I like Wayne's idea, too.
 
I second the method of using a brad nail. Scuff it up, push it through the back of the board, flux it, install the brass pin over it, and carefully apply heat and solder. It will be rock solid.
 
I suggest 12 or 14 gauge, solid-core copper wire (Romex). I have used it to repair and modify circuit boards in guitar effects pedals and the AC in my old house.
