A buddy of mine's 98 year old Grandma passed away last month. Her husband had inherited this car from his brother in the 50's after being killed in a car accident. They drove it until 1982 until his death. It has sat in this spot and not been touched since. 53,000 original miles and never in an accident, always garaged. Is there anything of value on these old 4 door boats? Does it pay for me to drag it home to part out or sell? My friend thinks it is a 1954. The interior looks nice except mice have been in the headliner, glovebox, and elsewhere I am sure.

I would pick it up in a minute as long as the price is right.
Ultra cool to take to the grocery store!
They are like driving 2 sofas, or maybe even a sectional.
Get it

Bring it home clean it up get it running and drive it. Thats what its good for, driving

Honestly their cool cars even in the 4 door variety. Would make a great car for a "Will it run you tube video",lol. If you can get it running on the cheap it may be worth dragging home. Around here a ratty 4 door with the right look will still get 7-9 k.

Wow, that really surprises me. I figured it is worth a bit more than scrap price.

Stuff that runs/ drives that used to be 3-4k seems to be more like 7-9k around here at least. The young guys buy them and air bag them, it's what they can afford and not a Honda. Also seems like they don't care as much about them being 4 doors like us middle / older aged guys do.

Someone will want it ! Sure looks solid. Was it free or did you have to pony up ?

It looks pretty much complete and not bad shape , drag it home. Power wash, see what you got., spark and clean fuel it may surprise you.

If your'e getting it for free or dirt cheap and it's not rotted out/ banged up too bad ,i would have to drag it home. White with a gold roof on a 54' will probably look pretty good to.

It is 1.5 hours away from me. I was there yesterday fixing the furnace in Grandmas house. They are going to have an auction this spring and sell the house, land, and everything else. I'm sure I could buy the car before that. Just don't know what to offer them, or if I even want to mess with it.

Offer 1000 and see what happens. Get it running it is a cool car, some one will want if if you dont. I have some points and cond for that if needed.

As others have said, too good to pass up. Would be a sin to scrap it. There is definitely a market for those cars.

It looks to be solid and mechanically all there. The rats worry me, remember it has cloth covered wiring and it's a 6V system. You can't go wrong at $1000-$1500. They are hard to find complete and unmolested so to speak.

You could spend money and be upside down in an instant. However this one looks really clean and those old flatheads will generally run. I would not spend more than $1k on it and I would just get it running, wash it and drive it.
My Dad's 53 NY Deluxe. I thought they used a clutch to start off but the Windsor doesn't look like it has a clutch pedal.

I was about 13-14ish and I broke the rear ring&pinion doing burn outs in the back yard when no one was home.
