Anybody using adjustable strut rods?

James it might be something you could add to the preexisting kit to give customers a choice between a bushed or non bushed mount. Just a thought.

yup couldn't agree more.

James do you also carry new adjuster bolts / plates?/

do you mean the torsion bar adjusters? If so yes we do for $89 a pair, but for some reason I am having an issue finding it on our website. I have to check with our webmaster what going on.

Thanks
James

Is there anything else needed for the strut rods? Do you use the rubber bushings going in the K or poly, if any at all.
I'll be buying a set for my 71 soon but was wondering.

Thanks

James,
Thanks very very much for looking into this - and so quickly too! I'm blown away by your customer service. I'm really glad you joined this site. I am really wanting to buy these adjustable strut rods so if you are able to identify a poly bushing/sleeve combo from your shop or one that you can outsource that will work with them, that will be great.
Have a great weekend.

Ok Guys I had a chance to pull a set off the self and a set of Poly strut bushing. Unfortunately the end that goes into the k-member are to small to accept the poly bushings and sleeves. The poly strut rod bushings have a ID of roughly 5/8. The stud or end of our adjustable is a 9/16" grade 8 stud. So it would not be a basic swap out. But this discussion has intrigued me and with access to warehouse full of bushings I may look into this further to see if I can find a bushing and sleeve combo that will work.

I do understand the idea of allowing more give while attaining the adjust-ability and the use of the heim joint. I am not shooting any ones ideas down. If anything I am the first to question, think outside the box and encourage new ideas. But I think having the pivot shaft in either rubber or poly will buffer the road noise or shock sufficiently.

But I plan to look into this further when I have a little more time and see if we can offer the option with the adjustable s. But in the mean time if anyone has any idea shoot them my way. One of the main reason PST joined/sponsored this site is to get in touch with what you guys are working on and what new products are needed.

Thanks
James

Great thread and also a great response from PST's rep!

Sorry Guys, I took an extended week to wrench on a couple of my own projects. I have made a few calls and I am waiting for some bushings to arrive to see if we can make this work. I will keep you guys updated.

Thanks
James

Well James????

Well James????

Sorry rrTor-Red. Some how I missed your post as I was checking. The strut rods are read to install currently the kit come with billet solid spacer that take the place of the rubber or poly bushing. So if you order them all the parts are included to install. If you have any other questions let me know. I will not miss your post this time. LOL sorry

Thanks
James

James - 1.03 T-bars?? Maybe you missed my question on this

We do have 1.03 t bars currently for the sbm's only but we do not have them listed online , We have just done a redesign on the clocking/Indexing and are having a new run being made(currently 1-2 months out) for the big and small block cars
Thanks
James

Thanks for the reply James. I'll be ordering them soon

Hey James, just checking on any progress with the poly bushed adjustable strut rods?

- - - Updated - - -

I made my own. I wanted them mounted in urethane to dampen road shock/noise? I agree they should not be used to get more caster but to adjust for the "sweet spot" where the LCA bushing doesn't bind.

Have you driven your car with these yet? Curious on how they feel and handle.
