I’m still getting used to owning my first mid sixties B body (67 Coronet) and was suprised to see that 5” wide wheels were offered as standard. Is anybody still using such narrow rims and if so, what’s the handling like on the street?
I ask as I can find some pretty cheap AR Torque thrust 15 x 5 ( for front wheel) would had dismissed them as being too narrow for street use.

My car ain't no autocrosser but I run the 15x5 American's on mine.Handles, well, like a car from the 60's.

putting wheels on a car is like trying to pick out somebody else's shoe's for them , that's why the manufacturer put plain steel wheels on the cars , the little old ladies would keep the wheels with hubcaps on them and the men who hot rodded and raced them changed them, TMO

So true, I’ve been churning over which wheels to get including some 5” rims. But it’s a moot point now as they’ve sold. Over here in the UK we’ve had no problems getting wheels for the last 20 years. Now? Just about everything is sold out and unavailable. Generic steelies are now the only commonly available option.

Global shortages on every shore now-a-days.

I forgot to say those wheels (American Racing TTO) fit both drum and disc brakes.
