Hey all,
I'm going to buy this car but want some to put eyes it before I hand over money.

Anyone in the area willing to go check it out? I'll pay for your time!

Not to hijack your thread, but I just learned about these the other day on here. I didn’t know it could be done. I wonder how much this would cost without using a doaner charger for sheet metal and buying all repop sheet metal? I remember several years ago there was a company selling complete repop roller cars. Mustangs and Camaros IIRC.

Well you can go do AMD and start listing out sheet metal prices.
This guy used a donor B-body which helps a lot, but the real price is in your labor. I think this was a three year project and is not done. This is a labor of love I think, and it's nuts. Bonkers.
But I knew a cop once that sang the praises of the crown vics. He said nothing could touch them for durability.

True that. I almost bought one, but ended up with a Lincoln instead. I kinda wish I had bought the Crown Vic. Does the charger retain the crown vic engine and drivetrain?

Casey loved his Crown Vic.

There is another member here who did a re-body with a Plymouth recently.

yes, and the firewall and most of the body you dont' see. Lot online about these

The crownvic front axle and rear are crazy wide for a charger transplant. It looks really stupid. Could be the way to go if your going to hit the Dixie horn and jump over a train. But, don't zoom in the camera.

Better to go with a modern Charger as the base car, than a Crown Vic.

A lot of people retrofit the Crown Vic front end assembly into old school trucks.

The Crown Vic setup can be unbolted as a complete suspension setup and can be rolled under anything in complete work order. It's a big upgrade for old school trucks.

Mid-80's Chrysler 5th Ave. and Dodge Diplomats work well also. Transverse torsion bars for ride height adjustment, motor mounts, power steering/brakes all in one.

Yep they are pretty slick for the early 60s and newer trucks. The front hub to hub width of the crown vic is 67 1/4" wide. The 8.8" is even wider. They use a rim with a big back spacing to narrow the track width. On the older pickups there is a company making a different cross member to narrow them. I looked hard at using the crown vic frame under a race car. Even had a body sitting on it. The front actually looked ok with a 4" skinny on it. But, the back axle was way too wide, has c clips..and is a FRD. Lol
I inherited the car..we did have fun taking the frame off.
