My father special ordered this 66 Coronet 440 station wagon at Cherry Hill Dodge in NJ.
It featured a 383 and 4 speed trans and pretty much every high performance option and bench seat.
It was obviously customized with the brown textured paint and bright hugger orange paint, functional scoops, side pipes, javelin grill, corvette taillights with clear lenses for turnsignal and single low/high headlights.

It was sold in the early 70's. Curious to know if it is still out there, somewhere, in any condition.

I have two ideas based on those photos.

1. Try to do a reverse search on the vehicle since the license plate is legible in the pictures. According to some websites I have looked at you will need to hire a private investigator to search that deep into DMV records.

2. Get another 66/67 Coronet Wagon and recreate the mods based on the pictures. Some famous racecar paint jobs have been recreated by taking computer scans of pictures. Sometimes the pictures are all that they had to use. This might be the more economical way to go considering anything could have happened to the wagon and it could be seriously rusted out somewhere. If you decided to recreate the car all that would be different are the serial numbers. Also the mods probably wouldn't hurt the cars' value at all.

I thought about trying a DMV search for the vin number based on the old licence plate. The plates are sooo old I figured the plate number would have been re-issued by now. Plus I have no idea what state the car is in. Both location and cosmetic. After 40 years, i t could be looong gone

Sentimental to me, lost my father 10 years ago today.

I emailed my mother a copy of this forum. "Remembering dad in a different way"
She replied how much SHE loved driving the wagon with my sister and me! LOL!

That wagon is one cool machine! I hope you can track it down somehow. If you could come up with the VIN, you'd have a much better shot. Mom doesn't have it somewhere - does she?

Mom will be 69 this year. she moved out of the original house 7 years ago.
outside of the pictures of his cars he had thru his early years, I never found any paperwork (except for his original bill of sale for his 70 Duster 340. I'll post pics of that next week on the a bodies only forum!)
I barely remember the wagon, I was 3 or 4 yrs old when it was sold.
I'll be 43 next week

HP Mopar;that is a cool car and a cool story. Best of luck in your search. From the options you listed, that thing sounds like a very unique car. Can't think that there's many,if any, like it.

A police officer friend has the old plate # and my dads birth date and original addresss where the car was registered.
He's going to look into a few things and see what he can 'dig' up
Stay tuned...

That is a sweet wagon, hope you can locate it. We sure didn't have a wagon like that when we were kids! That is really nice. I to sorry to hear of your dad, lost mine in 92, we never get over it, just move on and remember, im sure he would like what you've done. Ron

Anyone know anything about any Coronet wagons that were a factory big block and 4 speed, I know there can't be many

I always heard you could not get a 4 speed in one, that if any existed, they were made. But I also know to never say never.
