I understand the tach is pretty rare.
There was an option for a console tach, that is very rare. I have a console mounted vacuum gauge that will look pretty cool when I get it on.
Way to solid to part out a one of less then 2,000 built Charger like this! Remember it's been in the Rustbelt for who knows how long! This thing looks almost mint in my eyes...LOL
I cruised through Ebays vintage parts for the first gen Chargers an was shocked how much I found that this car needs, some repopped trim sets, a bunch of headlight and grille parts and quite a few NOS parts that were pretty pricy. Bunch of dash related parts too. It doesn't need any more then patchwork for body and frame repair. If the "JUNKYARD DOG" was this solid when I got it I would have been done with it 2 years ago.
You make some good points, but you can't forget that there are droves of us enthusiasts out there that love these cars and can't afford to buy a done one! Restoring one over several years is a different story and becomes doable for a giant number of us. Throw in the fact that this one is on the rare side and this could be someones affordable dream project!
I'm shocked that there is not at least a little more interest in this car. Shoot me a reasonable offer.
You will likely have a better chance selling it on Ebay to someone that likes the body style but has not investigated them enough to know what the cost of restoring one is.
List it on Ebay and between that and the Craig's List and forum listings you will have your answer soon. Be prepared to end up keeping it if your complete price is too high. Also be prepared for people asking to buy parts off of it.
Have you done a search to see what nice, complete, running, driving cars are selling for?
