I'm looking to upgrade from Indy Roller Rockers to a set of Ray Barton T & D Roller Rockers. Aside from milling off the built in stands on the indy heads, will the Barton Roller Rocker setup work on the Indy Legend Aluminum Hemi Heads. I want to pull the trigger.

Before you buy the barton pieces remember he uses a very large push rod. You need to check that the Indy heads will accomodate those large diameter Push rods. Personally I would also look at the Jessel set up or the Stage V. The beauty of the Indy set up is you already know you can ship the rocker shafts. To correct the angle to the valve tip. Ray barton is also very big on the idea of a special location of one of the cam lobes. I do not remember which. Also if you can get your self a set of Crane Rollers if your running solid roller lifters. You will not require bushnig the lifter bores. Also call Charlie Weston in Piscataway NJ and ask him about the barton setup he does alot of race machining for Hemi motors. What RPM are you looking to get out of the Motor??? Also get the roller lifters with oil thru push rods so you keep it from drying out on street Hemi.

Thanks I planned on going with bushed lifter bores and pushrod oil. and tapered 7/16-3/8 pushrods. I have the indy roller rockers and thought these barton ones would be the ultimate so there cant be any failure. i'll be spinning the motor to 7400 rpm's.

I have the Barton/T&D's on my 528. No problems as of yet but still haven't fired it yet either. I have it all back apart. Decided to go bigger on the cam & now has a tunnel ram with 2 1050's on it. Mine are on Mopar Performance heads.

Indy's have built in pedestals that's why i was asking to see if anyone ever milled off the pedestals before to use the T & D Hemi roller rocker setup.
I've moved on since this post to different heads. Stage V Big Valve to be exact.

The Stage 5 heads are really perfect. I think they may be the best out their. also The new Edelbrock heads should be looked at.

I totally agree with you. Mine flow 513 @.900 lift on the intake

I have them on my HEMI. I like them. the design is great. They are adjustable. Just call ray or david barton they will tell you if the rockers will work on your heads.I have stage v heads and I have run mine up to 6500 so far with no problems.

This was an old post. I bought new Stage V Big Valve heads and the T & D Barton rocker setup.
The indy hemi heads still have the indy rockers on them. They have held up fine so far.
