New Engine Build - Low Oil Pressure Problem

If you are getting over 50 psi oil pressure now then maybe the oil pressure problem is fixed. But I'm still not convinced you are setting the valves properly. You and I would think if you set the valves at TDC firing then the valves would be closed so that's fine right? No, that's not how you set the valves. Set the valves as shown in the chart below, right out of the Mopar B/RB book.

This first chart procedure was posted for me to use by someone that responded to a different post.
I used this method and it resulted in loud clatter. I don't know if it was poor lifter preload smacking valve stems because of a lack of oil pressure or valves smacking the piston. The noise did diminish.

I started over again using the TDC for each cylinder method and it seemed to calm things down but now I have the puff of blue smoke and a cylinder missing. Maybe more. I don't/won't know until I pull the plugs.

I didn't have the smoke before I fixed the pump which now has more oil pressure. I don't know if it's related to the pressure and I don't know cylinder pressures. I hope to check that tomorrow but I'm not sure I can get the hose connector from the compression tester into # 6 & 8 cause there's little room to get the fitting started and I don't want to cross thread.

I do see the chart below. It is much different from the next chart you have posted.
