It's been 30 years now since the 1981 Rolling Stones tour in the U.S. They played three dates in my town Dec 7,8,and 9 back in '81. It's been so long I don't remember which one exactly, but I did go to one of the shows with my older brother and his classmate from out school, Ray.
I remember when Mick took the stage to the opening riffs of "Under my thumb". I also remember that a lot of the songs sounded "sped up" compared to the recorded versions.
The arena where they played was called the Capital Centre and was about seven years old at the time. Many years later it was renamed the USAir arena, eventually it just got so outdated it eventually was demolished.
I also got a few t-shirts and never wore them to keep them in mint condition. I don't remember what happened to them.
Anyways, just wondering if anyone else remembers that tour. It's been 30 years ago now, imagine that.
