kinda thinking about going roller with my new CNC ported Stealth heads.

stock stroke 440 is the engine.

pretty much summed it up in my title, looking for anyone running the hydraulic roller cams, what size and what they think of what they have.

im leaning towards Lunati Voodoo cams, either the 712 or 713 cam.

TOTALLY SHOCKED that no one has tried one of these on here, no matter, im brave, so im gonna hit the Lunati VooDoo 20230713 cam after calling Lunati today.

let you know how it goes when its all screwed together.

I have the 20230712 in my 500ci with iron heads, works great. just remember to set the cam end play correctly or you'll have issues. also have lunati roller lifters, comp stainless roller rockers, Car has 1,200 miles on it without issue.

cool, is your car an auto?....i have a 4 speed, and i guess that was the deciding factor on Lunati recommending the 713 cam over the 712.

I have a comp cams xtreme energy retrofit cam hydraulic with hydraulic roller lifters on my OTB stealths, what do you need to know?

spec on cam, characteristics of you beast, would have gone larger, or smaller if you had a do over?

Mine is 23-710-9

Charistics? hmm well stroked 440 to 493, aluminum heads Runs like a raped ape at the rpm range I built it for lol. Would I do it again? yeah sure! The same cam, when I planned out the build it was stroker with a power range somewhere in the range of 2000-5000 what I ended up with is a typical 440 tons of torque and a bad *** power band right at 2500-5000 in second gear. In drive not as peppy as others but hey who cares when you can smash your tires from a standing stop with no brakes on and hit 90 in about 6 seconds lmao.

I wanted a driver that would blast your head off when the hammer was dropped and that's what I have, it's not a drag car by any means but for me an amature enthusiest its a lot and fun as hell! I just got it to the point of where I would feel comfortable driving long distances knowing it has some longevity now.

good to hear you had a great experience!

deff sounds like you got what you wanted.

i did a 496 15 yrs ago, and it had a cam about that size, and i felt it was too small....but i did my math wrong and ended up with 11.6 to one for compression.

this time gonna stay stock stroke 440, and let the heads do the work...deff want something a little snotty, but nothing with too much drama.

Hughes recommended one cam larger than yours, and Lunati said go big or go home...lol

i have a manual trans car, so i could prolly get away with it.

hoping to hear from some one with slightly larger grinds for impressions.

I run 9.6:1 on 91 gas :) Dished the pistons -24 cc. Plan your build for what you want. I personally didn't want to be at a stop light with my teeth rattling out of my head lmao. This cam is just a step above stock so it works out for me. Good luck Hughes has some good stuff!

I run this grind in my wife's challenger, but it's a small block. 1.6 rockers so it has more lift. 9-1 360, ported factory heads, 650 Holley, Edebrock dual plane. It's been 12.50@110 through full exhaust with the air cleaner in place.
