If it provokes thought, poetry, movies, literature, and music are worth considering. We might not agree with the author but then it's even more important to consider. Basically, I'm disagreeing with Francis Ford Coppola and saying Kurtz is right.

Soldiers in Vietnam were branded as baby killers. We admire the soldiers of WWII but they were also baby killers. Dresden, Nagasaki, Hiroshima. We bombed civilian targets. My point was can you win a war without killing civilians?

My ex-wife's grandfather fought in Korea. He said the NK marched civilians in front of their troops. He had to shoot the civilians first.

I have heard this relentless leftist shaming the US for bombing civilians during WW2. And why don't they talk about the Holocaust that way? The senseless slaughter of humans the Japanese Arme perpetrated on the civilians where they invaded. "The Rape Of Nan King during the Second WW, another senseless slaughter of Chines civilians. I wasn't alive then to have an opinion on what transpired, but in some of the accounts I read the Axis Powers got what they dished out.

I met “ Tibbets” & some of the Crew back in the 90’s at an arms show in Vegas . I spoke with him , flight engineer etc. about any regrets . They said they were doing their jobs! Their Service Saved Lives ! It was estimated at the time over a million Allied lives would have been sacrificed if the Allies
Invaded Japan . Like D-day. My Dad Was Army & Involved in D-Day , So Was my uncle . Battle of The Buldge , Monte Cassino

Recently listened to the Art of Darkness podcast on Brando and the Apocalypse Now section was laugh out loud funny. They recounted the history of the shoot and began with, "Brando showed up, ENORMOUS..." and went into the mess he caused for Coppola from there. Felt bad for Coppola, but it was really funny. Brando simply did not give a **** about anything or anyone and was an absolute hedonist.
