Just like the title says, would original factory installed brake shoes have a date stamp on them? If yes, where and how to decode?

thanks in advance!

i think he's asking if there is a way to tell if his shoes are the originals ....... but i agree, it's a non-issue

if they are good there good and if bad replace them not a date thing.

They were bad and I just replaced them.

Exactly. Just trying to see if these are the first brake shoes the car ever came with from the factory.

I have never seen a date code on brake shoes. Original finish, pentastar, and construction are the only way I know to identify period correct shoes.

The finish will be a sloppy quasmoline like the lower control arms. They will be stamped with a pentastar on the back somewhere. The pads will be glued to the shoe, not riveted. See attached picture.

Hope this helps.

Thank you very much!!! Picture does help. And good news is my car has less than 39000 original miles.
