Are you satisfied with your job?

The worst thing a tradesman can do is get off the tools and into management. My happiest days were when I was deep into wiring or trouble shooting a control panel or even wiring a large custom home. The deeper I sank into management roles the further away I moved away from my trade and the more miserable I became. I hate the politics and the bs that comes along with mamagement sometimes. Never feels like you're doing a good days work anymore.

no regrets...…. I have admittedly under achieved...…….. I believe I could have done almost anything, but I could have wound up in the wrong place at the wrong time; so far, so good

You could be on any of those restoration shows doing body and paint.
Would could have done almost anything I'm sure

I have been retired for two years and yes I have things to do around the house and I still maintain our three cars. I had three careers each time improved my income and was satisfied. However, my age and body is against me forever a job that required physical labor. I don't like working indoors and I like to keep busy while on the clock. At the end of the day I have to say I did well. We are comfortable and can afford to do things. One day at a time as they say.

My career is my discipline. Idle hands are devil's work.
I wonder which is more valuable; the drive to get dirty and work every day, or the experience gleaned from years on the job. Which is more valuable; the calloused hands caused by a lifetime of physical labor, or the management skill set that is mandatory to survive as a business owner in the real world.

Ask that question of the one that owns the farm. He owns a business equal to any in the corporate world.

Work at a job that you enjoy. If you don't it shows in your work.
I don't care if you fly a desk or dig ditchs.
If you don't like what your doing you are not going to be worth a **** at it.
