What is required to move the column shifter to a console? besides the actual console and hard parts, any major transmission work involved?

Need the linkage like you said....Cut a hole in the floor for the shift linkage...Need the brackets welded to the floor pan to support the console...other than that pretty easy. No Major Tranny work

I have some parts for sale that will help you if the correct year.

Most of the 60's - early 70's had all the layout marks in the floor where to punch the holes for the torque shaft and boot screws. The job is darn near self explanatory. But the hard part (and usually expensive) is finding the floor shift column parts.

Then you would want to change out the steering column to one that was for a manual shift car.
