hi all,
wondering if i can get your help on front wheel choice. Currently running centreline autodrags with MT ET fronts

id like a lighter wheel, and a friend has some american racing torq thrusts that hes selling.
im not a huge fan of the look of this wheel, but if they are lighter i may lol

anything else i should consider?
oh and its 15" im wanting

If I recall correctly a Motor Wheel Fly is the lightest. Good luck finding any.

If it is more street than strip, go for style. But just as a frame of reference, on my 65 Belvedere, I have 15x4.5 Torque Thrust rims with P205-75R15 tires and they weigh in at 34.6 lbs each.

I like the auto drags for a strip car. Torque thrusts are played out IMO

I love the thrusts, but if you are really looking for "light", I don't think there is much lighter than autodrags with drag racing fronts, without spending stupid money for Welds or the like. I'm almost positive the TTs will be heavier than your centerlines. if you want the look, cool, go for it.

I have ran both on my 67. The auto drags are much lighter but personally I prefer the TT.

From me everyone and their brother has ran the auto drags for the past 30 yrs or more. I know I did. Maybe st peopleare moving on to other choices now.

I run the TT on the front of my 63 as I love them for the perfect Nostalgia look. But mine are 15 x 6 as my car is mostly a street car so I run a street tire up front. Ron

TT are heavy. I just picked up a pair of 15 x 3.5" Super Tricks with Moroso Front Runner tires. They are stupid light. You can usually find this size around $2-350. Good luck.

Wish I had done that good, I just spent $500 on the 15x3 1/12" Tricks. Oh well! They are really light.

If they are the old style race Super Tricks spun alum. outers
a real bolt together 2 pc. light weights

{street versions had steel outers}

the spun alum. lighter versions don't do well on the street
or bumps chuckholes, at all etc.

just be aware

I know from 1st hand experiance

Loved real super tricks. You could take them apart and swap halves to get special offsets or to anodize to match a car (most often gold).
Hated, just HATED "Street super tricks". Chromed aluminum centers were heavy attached to an even heavier steel hoops that rusted before they came out of the box, and were obvious fakes from a hundred feet away. Terrible wheel in my opinion.
(Sorry if i offend anyone who really liked them.)

always liked the looks of the 5 spoke's on the '60's machines..most copyed wheel today..another option is the ET units..not the litest, but u get the looks..any combination u want..15x4 up front..15x14 on the rears..will be on the road soon..

I weighed one of my 15 X 3.5 Torque Thrust Rims today.
Check it out.

16.5 lbs. Rim only.

Switching from Torque Thrusts to Super Tricks shaved 20 lbs off the front. Same tires, different rims.

Yeah, they are like 6 lbs each. I'm just going 1/4 mile at a time these days though.

Still got an eye out for some rear Super Tricks. Anyone?? 15 X 10 or 12's

Very nice 63 by the way!

We all know old Americans are to heavy and you can't go fast with them.
